Mad conditions in the estuary again today. Checked the wind and it was around 30 knots. I was going to leave it until later and go out once the tide had dropped and the channel was showing but there was a student from the uni out so I thought I'd join him.

I went back and got my 5m, 4.5m, my speed sails, speed board and my wave board and went back to the estuary. The wind had eased off a little so I rigged the 5m and my wave board but by the time I got on the water it had come back again and I was overpowered.

I rigged the 4.5m and got back out there but the wind was now around 40 knots and even that was too much, especially in the choppy and very gusty conditions.

I still had a nice little sail though, I could have waited for the tide to drop a little and go out on the speed kit but it was pretty gusty and I was pretty cold by then.

Good to see another student out on the water though - That's two of them that are around this year, hopefully we'll see more of them as it's always good to have someone else to sail with.

Wind is looking good for Thursday and Friday too.
